Manchester City's new away kit is a full bee swarm, not just a badge nod

Puma and City built the 2026/27 away shirt around an all-over worker bee print, unveiled on the club's Hong Kong preseason tour.

Manchester City and Puma unveiled the 2026/27 away kit on July 31, 2026, during the club's preseason tour of Hong Kong. It made its on-pitch debut on August 1 in City's match against Inter Milan.

The base is black, but the shirt's front and upper back carry a tonal worker bee print rather than a single small emblem. Gold trims the crew neckline, sleeve cuffs, and side panels, with the Puma logo and City crest also rendered in gold. Repeated club lettering runs through the cuff trim, and a bee graphic sits inside the neckline.

Shorts are black with the crest and Puma logo in gold on opposite legs; socks are gold with black horizontal bands and "CITY" lettering near the shin.

"At Manchester City, we embody the values associated with the worker bee as a symbol of the City and we're proud to showcase all that it represents on a global stage," said Nuria Tarre, Chief Marketing and Fan Experience Officer at City Football Group. Manchester City Council's Shazia Butt added that the bee "represents the values that have shaped our city for generations: hard work, resilience, community, and pride," tying the shirt explicitly to the city's civic symbol rather than just the club crest.

For collectors chasing the material story as much as the graphic: the authentic version uses Puma's ULTRAWEAVE fabric, while the replica is made with RE:FIBRE, which Puma says comes from 95 percent recycled polyester sourced from textile waste.
